100 gm Self Raising Flour
100 gm White Breadcrumbs
50 gm Currant/Raisins
50 gmChopped Mixed Peel
75 gm Shredded Suet mix
75 gm Caster Sugar
150 ml milk
Butter for greasing
Custard to serve
Sift the flour into a bowl, stir in breadcrumbs, Currants, Mixed peel, Shredded Suet and Sugar.
Beat the egg with the milk and add to the dry ingredients folding whilst you mix.
Butter your bowl metal or glass Average medium size 18-22 cm in diameter grease well.
Spoon the mix into your bowl and level the best you can with the back of your spoon. Use tin foil to cover and use as a lid.
Place a medium size saucepan half full with water bring to the boil and simmer.
Add your bowl gently to the water and simmer for approx 2 hours Ensuring you keep the water topped up Please be Careful…
Remove from heat and allow to rest for approx 30 mins and serve.
