Bonker’s Bolognese

  • 240 g Spaghetti
  • 1 Clove Garlic (Crushed)
  • 400 gm Minced Beef
  • 400 gm Chopped Tomatoes
  • 150 gm Onions (Diced)
  • 150 gm Mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 100 gm Tomato paste
  • 10g Beef Stock
  • Sprinkle Dried Oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 Rashers Bacon (thinly Sliced) (optional)
  • 1 Cup Red Wine(Optional)

Method:
Heat 1 tbsp in a large saucepan, sweat onion and crushed garlic , Add minced beef fry till brown in colour approx 10 mins (ensure you break up the mince) add stock and Oregano to the mince,(optional add chopped Bacon). Add your beef stock give it a good stir, add mushrooms then add tomato puree and chopped tomatoes. Then salt and pepper to taste, add lid then simmer for 30 mins keep stirring.
Now you need another pan of boiling water add salt and a sprinkle of oil, (oil should keep spaghetti from sticking together check pack instructions for cooking time)Drain water.

Serve:
Add spaghetti to a plate add you bolognese and serve.When adding spaghetti to the plate try using tongs and add some height to the dish the layer the Bolognese gently on top.
Optional:
To this dish you can add 2-3 slices Bacon(add to the mince after brown In colour )
To the dish you can add 1 cup red wine (add to the onion and garlic after sweating then reduce for mins before adding beef)

Best Served  with Garlic Bread.
