How To Cook A Sausage

Fried Sausages

A sausage is a food usually made from ground meat, often pork, beef or veal, along with salt, spices and breadcrumbs, with a skin around it. Typically, a sausage is formed in a casing traditionally made from intestine, but sometimes synthetic.

Portion Size: 4-6

Ingredients:

8-12 Sausages
Oil

Method:

1. Prick the sausages with a fork.
2. Warm the oil in a frying pan and gently fry the sausages to a golden brown turning them regularly.

Note:
Sausages should be cooked slowly to avoid splitting the skins.

Grilled Sausages

Portion Size: 4-6

Ingredients:

8-12 Sausages
Oil

Method:

1. Prick the sausages and lay out on greased trays.
2. Brush with oil.
3. Cook slowly under a grill, turning the sausages regularly until cooked to a golden brown.

Sausages Cooked In The Oven

Ingredients:

8-12 Sausages

Method:

1. Prick the sausages and lay out on oven trays.
2. Brush with oil.
3. Place in a pre-heated oven 160c gas mark 5 for 20 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven and serve:

BBQ Sausages

Portion Size: 4-6

Ingredients:

8-12 Sausages
Oil

Method:

1. Prick the sausages and lay on greased bbq grill.
2. Brush with oil.
3. Cook slowly under a moderate heat, turning the sausages regularly until cooked to a golden brown.( careful not to burn the sausages ).
