Heavenly Beef Stew & Dumpling’s

Beef Stew


400g Beef(diced)

100g onions(diced)

75g celery(sliced)

100g leeks(diced)

100g carrots(diced)

100g swede(diced)

2tbsp tom puree

30g beef stock

2 tbsp. Worcester sauce

gravy mix to thicken(as needed)

salt and pepper to taste

1 litre of water


160 gm’s Suet mix

75 ml of water

pinch salt and pepper

Add oil, Sweat onions add seal beef (until meat is brown in colour), Add all remaining veg sweat for another 5-10 mins, add tom puree, Worcester sauce, beef stock then add the water.

bring to boil reduce for 10-15 mins thicken with gravy mix.

suet mix in a bowl add water mix with hands (clean hands only) then roll into 40g balls

Serve in serving vessel add dumplings


Number of ways to cook dumplings

(1) pan of seasoned water, poach your dumplings for 7-8 min’s. drain water allow to cool slightly

(2) steam for 15 min’s

(3) oven bake for approx. 15 min’s
